Based at the Cavendish Centre, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and fourteen years old, Ilkeston Outlaws Junior Basketball Club, has evolved to become the best, most prestigious and cohesive, club in the East Midlands Area.

Coaching is provided for both girls and boys from age 8 to 18. Our aim is to provide National Level Competition at all our current age groups, and to encourage our players to continue playing Basketball through college/university and on to a senior level

The junior club has evolved from a, well established, senior basketball club, incorporating “Ilkeston Cougars”,” Ilkeston Hawks” and “Ilkeston Falcons”, and although the junior club, “Ilkeston Outlaws”, is a separate entity, there is opportunity for junior players to gain experience at a senior level, as senior players are also involved in the running of Ilkeston Outlaws

The Sherwood League, in which all of our teams compete, at various levels on a regular basis, covers the counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, Leicestershire, and Staffordshire, so even at a local level there is plenty of competition available.

We would like our own venue in Ilkeston. So if anyone is reading this who may be able to help source a venue, at little, or no, cost to us, then please “make us an offer”. Our part of the bargain will be to maintain the levels of training and coaching necessary to allow your child to advance to the highest level possible.

Basketball is a sport that, similar to American Football, involves complex plays and pre-rehearsed set pieces. These, normally, are far in advance of anything in Soccer, Rugby or Hockey.

Ilkeston Outlaws is a family club supported by Derbyshire Basketball Association, Erewash Borough Council, Erewash Leisure services, Erewash Patterns and Pola Screen Blinds.

To all our sponsors, a big “Thank You”. We hope that your association with Ilkeston Outlaws will generate a customer base that may not, otherwise, have been there.
